The lovely London House hotel is situated just off the main shopping area of Bayswater in central London, overlooking a quiet, leafy Victorian park. It is a short walk from Hyde Park and Kensignton Gardens and Palace, with excellent connections to the West End and all London tourist attractions. The fashionable Notting Hill area is also a short walk away. The hotel consists of what were once five very elegant Victorian town houses, now connected and converted into a lovely hotel. The attractive entrance, after a few steps, is flanked by columns. The lobby is small but having recently been refurbished, is very airy and modern. The wooden reception desk (please note receptionist wearing a uniform is a rare sight in this type of London hotel, and tell a lot about the service and quality offered by this hotel) is set to the left, having accessed the hotel via an automatic door. Flat screen televisions advertise sightseen tours and London attractions. There is a new and modern lift right in front of the reception desk. Having just been totally refurbished, this is a fantastic contemporary hotel, well-suited to accommodate any visitor to London with its wide range of comfortable, newly renovated rooms. Definitely one of the best budget accommodations in the whole of London!! All the rooms were refurbished in 2008 to a very good standard and they now feature en suite facilities, modern flat screen TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. They've been decorated using cream and soft pastel colours and wooden furniture. All beds feature new linen; white duvets and rich coloured, silky cushions and bedspreads. Both, room and bathrooms are in excellent condition. The breakfast room is located in the lower ground floor. This is a very spacious and modern room where Continental style breakfast is served to all the hotel's guests. The hotel also has a coffee room in the ground floor, next to the reception and lobby area. This is a very large room with very high ceilings, beautiful, period plaster coving and huge windows that floods the room with daylight. The room follows the rest of the hotel's decor style and is very modern, with butter colour painted walls, dark wooden furniture and leather armchairs. Hot and cold drinks, hot pastries and light snacks are served in this very comfortable coffee room. Guests can also use it as TV room thanks to the huge plasma screen television hanging from one of the walls, and use on of the several internet points available in the room.

Chartfield Guest House is situated in a quiet backstreet off the main stretch of stunning Kalk Bay. A 30 second walk to the main high street and the sea front, the guesthouse is only a 20 minute drive to Cape Town city centre. From Kalk Bay guests can reach a host of beaches nearby and is just 20 minutes from the must see attrtaction, the Cape of Good Hope. There is also a train that runs from kalk Bay station straight into Cape Town CBD. Kalk bay is 30 minutes from the airport. A really fabulous guesthouse and a great alternative for anyone wanting to get away from the formal hotel experience. Guests are made to feel welcome at Chartfield and it's perfect if you want to enjoy Cape Town's many attractions in a relaxed environment. There is a outdoor swimming pool with sunbathing area and a terrace overlooking the garden and with views of the sea. The hotel has small conference facilities and internet access. Kalk Bay itself is a beautiful qaint village and a great place for whale viewing in season. These are really lovely rooms with antique furniture, original wood flooring and stylish comfortable bedding on their king size beds. Unlike many characterless hotel rooms, Chartfield's rooms are minimalist in style, bright and airy and have an old school charm about them. Nearly all rooms have a full or partial view of the sea and offer satelitte falt screen TV and en-suite bathrooms. The guesthouse has a dining area which, in line with the rest of the property, is bright and spacious and uses simple minamilist design. The room showcases local art and has stylish white tables and chairs and lots of natural light. Breakfast is served here and upon request lunch and dinner can also be served. This is a historical building in the Kalk Bay seaside village, Chartfield Guesthouse is an attractive 2 storey building, painted white with large windows and spacious balconies and terraces. The lobby forms part of the guesthouse living area. As you enter Chartfield the informal check in desk is to your left with a seating area and inviting terrace overlooking the garden to your right.

YWCA Fort Canning Lodge is located at the foot of Fort Canning, a designated park, the lodge sits on a little rise with access to Penang Road and Orchard Road via cutting through a mall. Down the road is the Singapore River and Clarke Quay. Fort Canning was the seat of the ancient Malay rulers who had a palace at the top of the hill. Today it is a park with walking and jogging paths as well as some historical tidbits of interest incorporated. Recommend for those budget travelers who like to walk around the park and amongst greenery yet still be near to the bustle Orchard and Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. This lodge is owned and managed by YWCA, Singapore. The rooms are large with soft finishing in floral prints and ordinary looking furnishing. The rooms are generally in good condition and there are no double rooms in the standard category. The toilet is clean and with standing shower. There is a coffee house on the lobby level with functional decor. The lodge appears at the top of the Fort Canning but it is easy to miss as it is tucked at the end of other buildings. It is a brick and white painted building. The large lobby is long and bright. There is a full glass atrium on one side and lifts in the middle right of the check in counter. At the opposite end of the lobby is the entrance to the cafeteria.

Hotel Du Forum is Located in the heart of the old city of Arles, facing the Van Gogh cafe, which Van Gogh has painted famously "Le cafe, la nuit". This is a very pleasant family run property. They are pleasantly decorated in sober traditional style. They are very cosy, and provide calm and tranquility. Both rooms and bathrooms are in good conditions. The breakfast room is located on the ground floor. The hotel building is a very attractively restored old house. It is very imposing with its big windows and nice entrance porch. As you enter the hotel, you follow a corridor that leads you to the reception area, and to a sitting area. This is traditionally decorated with a cosy Provencal touch.

The Pensione Seguso hotel enjoys a unique sunny location, on the Zattere side, overlooking the Giudecca Island and the large Giudecca Canal. The lobby is very small and gives access to the restaurant and to a cosy and intimate seating area. Everywhere you find pieces of art and testimonies of history. Most of the rooms of this ancient house have external bathrooms, one bathroom to every one or two rooms, due to the fact that the building is an historical property and must be preserved. All the rooms boast a full or partial view of the lagoon and are furnished with antiques which are part of the heritage of the Seguso family. Quad rooms boast a fantastic view over the Giudecca Canal with its beautiful churches and typical Venetian houses and palaces. There is a good and charming restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch or dinner to the guests only. Overall, a charming hotel, run by the same family that converted its own home into hotel at the beginning of the 20th century. Due to the delicacy and preciousness of the furnishings this hotel is suitable for guests who appreciate history and antiques. This hotel is definitely of a superior standard.
